Location

Algarve

The Algarve coast streches 100 miles from Cape St Vincent in the west to the Spanish border in the east. The area is renowned for wonderful beaches. The beaches in the west are more rugged and dramatic with rock formations and coves. The coastline in the east has long sandy beaches. Further inland you can explore the heritage and history of the Algarve.

The region is a delight to explore on foot. Coastal walks to the beaches of Bengil & Praia De Cavalho offer spectacular views and tranquil scenery. Further afield the Monchique hills, the national forest and the historic town of Lagos may be visited.

The whole family can enjoy the areas waterparks and the Zoo Marine with its interactive dolphin displays.


Carvoeiro

The village is a bustling coastal community with a traditional and charming village sq.

Carvoeiro has a wide range of shops with butchers, bakers, banks, pharmacies. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts with fresh produce for all your self-catering needs.

There are many fine restaurants to choose from as well as bars and cafes. There is a wide range of cuisine available with a range of prices. Be sure to try the trational Portuguese dishes Cataplana and Chicken Piri Piri before you go home.

For golfers there are two championship courses (Gramacho and Vale Da Pinta) located between Lagoa and Carvoeiro. These are laid out amoungst olive groves, carob, fig and almond trees. There is also a golf academy with driving range on site.


Redevelopment

Last year the main square was renovated to create a spacious and modern feel. Wider pavements have expanded the bar and restaurant terrace space.

Access for wheelchairs and pushchairs has been improved. A ramp has been constructed at the entrance to the beach which has been awarded with a blue flag for quality, water safety and facilities. LED lighting illuminates the ground from the beach to the square.
